Kaetsu Saturday School

This week the Honours Class studied speculation about the past. It was very challenging for some students although everyone completed work to at least a satisfactory level.

The Standard Class reviewed speaking about activities and completed a cloze exercise to a high standard.

Next week the Honours Class will study future speculation and the Standard Class will study reading comprehension and hobbies, which is also a review.

This week the Honours class studied giving instructions using formal vocabulary. It was understood well though some students struggled to use the vocabulary effectively in their own writing.

The Standard class studied adverbs of frequency in conversation.

Next lesson the Honours class will study speculation about the future and the Standard class will review adverbs, schedules and follow-up questions.
 

This week the Honours Class studies giving opinions politely regarding controversial issues. This was done quite well although the girls were more talkative than the boys. In addition to this, the writing that was produced was excellent and the students gave reasons for their opinions.

The Standard Class studied likes and dislikes, especially in conversation and students produced writing stating likes and dislikes about one particular subject.

Next week the Honours Class will study speculation about the past and the Standard Class will look at routines.

The Honours Class worked on creating their own detective stories using grammar points from the previous three weeks. The work was checked by a partner and then by the teacher. The level of work produced was excellent.

The Standard Class worked on comparisons using 'not as' and it was much more difficult than expected.

Next week, the Honours Class will be looking at expressing opinions politely. The Standard Class will study likes and dislikes in conversation.
