Kaetsu Saturday School

◇現在英語上級者クラスに参加している子どもたちは、ほとんど全員が帰国生または英語での授業を長く経験している子どもたちです。

◇KSSでは、これまでも経験者であることを前提にして授業の進行をしていましたが、かえつ有明中のA-1選考が11月25日に迫っていることから、授業レベルを上げることにしました。

◇かえつ有明中帰国生入試の過去問題をご覧になった方や、体験授業に参加された方は、よくご存知だと思いますが、かえつ有明の帰国生クラスでは、かなり高いレベルの英語力が要求されます。単に単語等が難しいというだけではなく、Critical Thinkingを取り入れている点が特色です。

◇KSSでは入試対策だけをするわけではありませんが、かといって２ヶ月後に近づいている入試を無視するわけにもいきませんので、まずは上級者向けクラスのレベルを１０月から上方修正することにしました。ご理解のほど、よろしくお願いいたします。

◇今日は二学期最初のKSS授業でした。マーク先生からのコメントです。

Today the Honours Class studied would, could and should and wrote some advice for people the same age who are studying English. The work was challenging but there were some excellent examples of writing.
 
The Standard Class learned how to describe objects using colours and materials. This was done well and the writing was completed very well.

◇帰国生の多い英語上級者クラスでは、生徒が積極的に発言していました。英語初心者クラスは、発言こそ目立ちませんが、内心では先生の言葉をきちんと受け止め、理解は進んでいるようです。

◇マーク先生のコメントです。

The Honours Class studied  about ambitions and wrote essays about their own ambitions and how they how to achieve them.

The Standard Class looked at homes in both a reading comprehension exercise, which was challenging, and also in writing.

◇掲載が遅くなってしまいましたが、Marc先生からのコメントをご紹介します。

Today, the Honours Class looked at comparatives and superlatives to have a discussion to rank different things according to criteria set by the teacher. The tasks were carried out quickly and written up well. The Standard Class studied future plans using 'will' and this was also completed very well.

This week the Honours class looked at world food and comparatives which was challenging.

The Standard class looked at jobs they want to do and do not want to do when they are older.

 

◇以前に比べてスタンダードクラスも英語でのやり取りにだいぶ慣れてきたようです。英語がきらいにならないよう、少しずつ慣れていってもらえればと思います。
