Kaetsu Saturday School

Today the Honours Class studied modals to recommend sightseeing places and did a reading comprehension exercise about walking in Britain. There was a lot of interesting writing, avoiding the words ‘good’ and ‘nice’ to make the writing more engaging.
 
The Standard Class studied world food and used adjectives of taste and names of countries to talk about foods. They also did an exercise about unusual foods which was challenging.

◇英語上級クラスは、活発に発言している様子が印象的でした。また、英語初級クラスも、最初の頃に比べてだいぶ先生とのコミュニケーションが慣れてきたようです。

Today the Honours Class and Standard Class studied countries and nationalities. It was very challenging for both levels and everybody worked very hard.
 

今回の素材は、国旗や世界地理の学習にもつながりました。日本語と英語とでは発音が違う国もよくあります。Germany （ドイツ）などはそのよい例です。こういった違いを意識しておくと、将来英語でニュースを聞くときなどに役立ちます。

The Honours class interviewed each other about past vacations for three minutes and wrote about what their partner said using interesting vocabulary. This surpassed my expectations; it was done very well and very accurately.

The Standard class talked about ways of getting around and methods of transport. They also wrote about how they get around. I see improvement every week in the level of writing.

◇英語上級クラスでは、Writingに時間を取ったために、今週はReadingを扱いませんでした。今後は隔週で、Reading中心の週とWriting中心の週に分けていくとのことです。

◇英語標準クラスでは、Writingのときのスペリングチェックなどを行っています。ご家庭でもスペリングを意識して、丁寧に練習するようにして心がけてください。
